This celebratory event will include a look back at 35 years, special remarks and recognition, delicious food from Southern Oaks Catering, and a unique silent auction, filled with a variety of items including art from local artists.
There are two special components of our silent action: our wooden pieces and our bicycle sculptures. Wood donated by Economy Supply has been turned into beautiful benches, step stools and chairs by local woodworker, Ken Graves with TransformTimber. “I’m honored to be part of supporting such a wonderful organization,” said Graves, who donated his time for this project. Local artists are donating their time to paint and creatively embellish these pieces to create one-of-a-kind auction items for attendees to bid on. Sculptures made of bicycle parts were also made by local artists for the Hattie Hundred event in the spring. Those pieces will also be included in the silent auction.
Various artists have donated their time and creative services to help make this auction a success. Our painters include Anna Weeks, Diane Shepherd, Julia Eaves, Kelly Rosa, Kym Garraway, Mark Brown, Megan Sauls, Pamela Finch, Ricardo Moody, Rick Wilemon, Robert Williams, Robin Fall, Tasha Messer, Thomas Jackson, Tonya Rivers, OGHS students, and JCJC students. Our bicycle sculpture artists include Abigail Allen and SmartSpace, Anne Marie Bailey and HHS students, Andrew Beall, Cecil Ellenburg, Christie Brady and the South New Summit School, Jenny Moore Miller, JCJC students, Dr. Linda Vasquez, Marc McPhail, Tracy Warden, and the South Mississippi Art Association. These beautiful and unique Items that will be displayed throughout the auction.
“Without the support of our community we would not be the organization that we are today,” said, Dr. Linda Vasquez, Executive Director of DREAM of Hattiesburg. “Our youth will continue to accomplish their dreams with our community’s help,” Vasquez said.
