The Hattiesburg Zoo is hosting what is sure to be the swashbuckling event of the summer. On Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 the Zoo will host a boatload of pirate-themed festivities aimed to please lads and lassies of all ages.

Daily activities include Walk the Plank, a buried treasure dig, a temporary tattoo parlor, a Pirate Parrot animal show, and plenty more. Guests are highly encouraged to dress in pirate clothing and take pictures with the roaming pirates throughout the day.

“This will be the third Pirate Days event that the Hattiesburg Zoo has put on. The event has grown in attendance each year and we are thrilled to see how our guests react to the newest edition of this buccaneer bash.” Jeremy Cumpton, Education Manager for Hattiesburg Zoo, said.

In addition to the Zoo’s Safari Grill established food and drink selections, special food and beverages will be available during Pirate Days.

Pirate Days will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission is $5, and children under 2 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. Annual passes do apply.
