A new art show featuring the works of OLLI artist, Marty Broadus, is currently hanging in the OLLI Gallery at the Peck House, headquarters for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). A reception will be held on November 10 at the OLLI Gallery to commemorate the exhibit. The free event is scheduled from 11:30 to 1:00 and features wine tasting and live music.

The Broadus exhibit will remain in the OLLI Gallery through December 15. Daily viewing times are Monday thru Friday, 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., except on holidays. The OLLI Gallery is located at 3601 Pearl St. in Hattiesburg and there is no admission charge.

Marty Broadus is a graduate of USM in Elementary Education and Special Education and has a Master's of Art Education from William Carey. Although remaining as the long-time secretary for the South Mississippi Art Association, she has retired from active teaching after 33 years. She now serves as an art instructor at OLLI. Her work consists mainly of watercolors although she enjoys all drawing and water-based media as well as ceramics. Her choice of subject matter is just as varied.

OLLI offers programming geared toward individuals 50 years of age or older, with any level of education, working or retired. The premise behind OLLI is that learning at any age is fun and a great way to keep mind, body and spirit healthy. All offerings are presented in a relaxed atmosphere with break time to socialize.

Interested individuals should call the OLLI office at 601-264-2780, visit the web site at:, e-mail at or visit the OLLI office at 3601 Pearl St., Hattiesburg, Monday-Friday.  New members may join at any time.
