Hattiesburg Zoo hosts Starry Nights, November 14

HATTIESBURG (November 7, 2017) — The Hattiesburg Zoo is partnering with the University of Southern Mississippi Department of Physics and Astronomy to host Starry Nights on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Starry Nights will offer several out of this world attractions for guests of all ages. Gaze at the stars at our telescope viewing, attend a constellation lecture, experience nocturnal animal encounters, join in on physics experiments, make your own celestial-themed crafts, and more. All guests also receive complimentary hot cocoa and a piece of our solar system cake, and can enjoy unlimited rides on our train and carousel.


“Starry Nights helps bring a unique experience to the Hattiesburg Zoo. Together we explore the night’s sky through telescopes, lectures, and even cake! This is an event fit for all ages with animal encounters, crafts, face painting, and many more reasons to come be a part of Starry Nights.” Jeremy Cumpton, education manager for Hattiesburg Zoo, said.


Admission is $5, and children under 2 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. Annual passes do apply.
