Douglas Glenn Hennis, 70, of the Dixie community passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home. Services will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis, followed by burial in Pleasant Home Cemetery.

Mr. Hennis served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in construction for 30 years at Forrest General Hospital. He also loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dimple Hennis; three brothers, Floyd Hennis, Jr, Billy Hennis, and Dave Hennis; and four sisters, Louise Hennis Williamson, Mattie J. Hennis Bond, Linda Carol Hennis Martin, and Janet Hennis Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Hennis of the Dixie community; his son, Chris (Lisa) Hennis of Sylvarena, MS; his daughter, Tiffani Hennis (Sammy) Houston of Raleigh, MS; six grandchildren, Jessica Herrington, Casey Collins, Matthew Hennis, Olivia Hennis, Haidyn Houston, and Sam Houston; five great grandchildren; one sister, Sue Cameron of the Dixie community; numerous nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Panzy Hollingsworth of the Dixie community.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 1 p.m. to service at Moore Funeral Home in Purvis.
